Jeanne Taylor (pronounced Jean) grew up surrounded by music. She is named after her grandmother who was a Minnesota Music Legend. Prince discovered her father, and her Aunts and Uncles have played or recorded with everyone from John Mayer to the Steve Miller Band. She really didn’t have a choice but to follow in their footsteps.
Jeanne Taylor started performing with her family at the tender age of 2, and started her recording when she was 9 with a band she formed with her sister Kelly called The Peterson Girls. That project garnered much interest from Disney, but would have required a move to California that the family wasn’t quite ready for.
Jeanne discovered she had a talent for writing when she was 12. She secretly recorded many of these demos by herself on GarageBand. When her father discovered her talent, he produced these songs, and sent them off to his industry friends. He was afraid that he was too biased, and needed some feedback. All of her father’s friends knew she had something special. Grammy Award winner Bryan White invited her down to write and record at his house in Nashville. On that same trip, she wrote and recorded with Jonathan Cain ‘s (Journey) daughter Madison and Taylor Swift’s guitarist Paul Sidoti.
Jeanne is a senior at the University of Minnesota, but she seized the opportunity to spend the last 2 summers in Los Angeles, where she worked with multi-platinum producer Oliver Leiber (Paula Abdul) and multi-platinum producer Khris Riddick-Tynes (Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Megan Trainor). The result of those trips is her debut EP titled "Jeanne," available now.
Jeanne is making LA her second home. She has plans to spend as much time as possible in LA, after finishing her college degree.
